Dear Colleagues,
My name is Michael Byrnes and I am a psychometrician for the American Society for Quality. I oversee the development of the ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer exam (CRE) and test development process. As you may know the ASQ CRE exam has undergone an update to its existing body of knowledge. As part of the test development process we are required to set the standard for the exam by holding a Cut Score workshop with subject matter experts in each language it is offered.

ASQ(American Sociery for Quality) 심리(정신)측정 분야에서 활동하고 있는 Michael Byrnes라고 합니다. 저는 현재 ASQ-CRE 시험의 개발과 그 프로세스와 관련하여 책임을 맡고 있습니다. 여러분도 알다시피 ASQ-CRE시험은 기존 구성에 덧붙여 지속적인 업데이트가 되고 있으며 그 과정 중 하나의 단계로 ASQ는 시험이 실시되는 각 국가의 해당 분야 전문가들과 함께 Cut Score(합격점수) 워크숍을 개최하여 시험 기준을 정립하고 있습니다.
The Cut score study workshop is a unique and valuable opportunity for you to gain insight in the world of professional testing and Cut score methodology. It is also an very unique opportunity to network with your fellow CRE engineer peers in Seoul. We are now recruiting for 12 ASQ Certified Reliability Engineers to attend this very important workshop. To be eligible to attend you must:
1.Hold a current ASQ CRE Certification
2.Be proficient in the English language
시험의 합격점수선을 논하는 워크숍은 특별하고 소중한 기회로서 이 워크숍에 참여하시게 되면 세계에서 널리 진행되고 있는 시험에 대한 인사이트와 합격점수를 설정하는 방식에 대해 이해를 얻고 가시게 될 것입니다.
2011년 ASQ는 한국의 12명의 신뢰성 공학 전문가들을 모시고 이 워크숍을 개최하고자 합니다. 워크숍에 참여하시려는 분들의 자격은 다음과 같습니다.
1. 현재 유효한 ASQ-CRE자격증을 보유하고 계신 분
2. 능숙하게 영어를 사용하시는 분

ASQ will award you 2 professional development recertification units (RU's) toward future recertification. ASQ will also refund your travel expenses ($30 USD max) and will provide lunch and refreshments during the workshop.
이 워크숍에 참여하시는 여러분들께는 향후 재인증 받으실 때 2RU를 부여하고, 최대 30US$의 이동경비 및 워크숍 중 점심과 다과를 제공할 예정입니다.
All participants will be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement.This limits your performing exam preparation training, authoring, or otherwise sharing specific knowledge about the examination for a period of two (2) years. This is to ensure that the knowledge you gain about the exam is not used in a manner that would give an unfair advantage to anyone sitting for a future exam.
모든 참가자들은 기밀 계약서에 사인하셔야 하며, 이 계약서에 따라 시험 관련하여 강의를 하거나 저서를 기술하는 등 시험에 관한 상세한 정보를 공유하는 행위들이 2년 동안 제한됩니다. 이는 워크숍을 통해 공유된 시험에 관한 정보들이 추후 시험 지원자들에게 불평등한 혜택을 주지 않기 위함을 이해해주시길 바랍니다.
If you are willing and confident that you are able to attend, please respond directly to me (Michael) as soon as possible so that I can make arrangements and form the team. After I have received responses, I will send out a formal, confirming invitation to the final team with more information. The selection process is designed to create a team that represents a broad and diverse range of candidates from as many industries as possible. We can only take the first 12 individuals who respond positively and meet the minimum credentials above.
